# Kosh vs KOHO

KOHO is a Canadian money app with an account and card you spend from. Kosh is an AI CFO that reads statements from all your accounts and plans. One holds your money; the other never touches it.

**In short**

- KOHO gives you an account and card to spend and save with, with features like cash back and credit building depending on the plan.
- Kosh doesn't hold money or issue cards. It reads statements from KOHO and every other account you have, and tells you what to change.
- If you want a new place to keep and spend money, KOHO is in that category and Kosh isn't. If you want tax and savings planning across everything, that's Kosh's job.
- KOHO has a free plan and paid plans; its prices and rates have changed over time, so check KOHO's own site. Kosh Pro is CA$19 a month or CA$179 a year.

## A place to spend vs a plan

KOHO is something you use every day: you get paid into it, spend with its card and see your transactions in its app. Depending on the plan, KOHO offers features such as cash back on some categories, interest on balances and credit-building tools. Plan names, prices and rates have changed over time and third-party reviews disagree, so we don't quote them here; check KOHO's site for what's current.

Kosh isn't an account. It's an [AI CFO](/learn/what-is-an-ai-cfo) that reads statements from KOHO and every other account you have, then works out what to change: the card that charges interest, the bank fee you could drop, the RRSP contribution that would cut your tax.

## When KOHO is the better fit

- **You want a new spending account** with a card and a real-time view of what you spend.
- **You're building credit** and want a tool designed for that. Our [credit score guide](/learn/credit-score-canada) explains how scores work in Canada.
- **You want your daily spending in one simple app** and your finances are mostly in one place.

## When Kosh is the better fit

- **Your money is spread out.** A big-bank chequing account, two cards, a TFSA somewhere else: Kosh reads them all.
- **You want to save on taxes,** not just track spending. Kosh estimates your federal and provincial tax and shows what RRSP and FHSA contributions would save.
- **You want a plan for growing your money:** the order to fill registered accounts, how big an [emergency fund](/learn/how-much-emergency-fund-do-i-need) should be, and when to pay down debt first.

## Using both

You can use both: KOHO to spend, Kosh to plan. Upload your KOHO statements to Kosh with your other accounts, and Kosh includes them in your money map, subscription list and monthly plan. Kosh never asks for logins and can't move money, so nothing changes in your KOHO account unless you change it.

**Where Kosh fits**

Kosh doesn't replace a bank account or card. It plans across the accounts you already have, from statements you upload.
